As a company, we’re doing what we can to reduce our carbon footprint. The biggest change we’ve made to date has been our bottles.
In late 2020, we made the decision to move away from glass bottles to Irish Made 100% recycled plastic bottles for our products. We did some research before making the switch and found that the carbon footprint of the glass was quite high. After a period of research, we subsequently discovered a manufacturer of 100% recycled plastic bottles right here in Ireland, and decided to make the switch.
These new amber bottles are made down the road in Limerick by an Irish company and can be seen in health stores across Ireland with most of our products now switched over to the recycled plastic. Our 30s and 60s products are now being manufactured exclusively in the recycled bottles. For the moment, all of our products that are available in 90s are still in glass.
These new bottles are made from 100% recycled materials and are also recyclable. This makes recycling after use a simpler process for consumers as they can go in with the dry recyclables, and no longer require a trip to a bottle bank.
In moving away from our current glass bottles, we are also happy to say that we can now reduce the need for single use plastics on our product seals. Where our glass bottles have plastic heat shrink seals on the outside of the lid, our new packaging contains interior induction heat seals which are tamper proof.
We will endeavor to continue our quest to reduce the carbon footprint of our manufacturing business, and hope that you will continue to support us along the way!
